Mysa is a tiny open-source macOS menu bar app designed to help you pause and breathe. Click the gradient "m" icon in your menu bar (or press the configurable global hotkey) to start a breathing exercise. The screen dims with a frosted overlay, a small orb breathes in and out in the notch, and a handwritten developer joke appears while you follow the rhythm.
Features:
- Seven built-in breathing patterns: 4-7-8, box, coherent, triangle, extended exhale, diaphragmatic, and pursed lip
- Custom pattern builder with steppers in the notch
- Configurable global hotkey (default: Control-Option-Command-B)
- Live overlay settings: tint, blur, grain, ambient mode, gradient
- Blocks mouse and keyboard input to other apps during the session to keep you focused
- Lightweight: uses CoreAnimation layers, not Metal
Requirements: macOS 14 or newer, Swift 6.
