Patter is a menu bar ambient sound mixer for macOS. It lives in the menu bar and nowhere else — no dock icon, no main window, nothing to manage.
Seventeen Sounds, Mixed Your Way Every sound has its own switch and slider, so you can mix rain over a coffee shop, drop the fire to fifteen percent, and add brown noise when the room next door gets loud. All seventeen sounds play at once, each at the level you set.

Designed for the Menu Bar Patter has no dock icon and no main window. Close the panel and forget it — it plays at the levels you set until you turn it off, and remembers where you left it. Space plays and pauses. Launch at Login if you want it. One checkbox makes Patter follow your Mac's volume, so the volume keys you already use become the only control you need.

Crafted Audio The rain is fat drops on a window, recorded from inside. The coffee shop is one small quiet cafe rather than a crowd loop. Every recording is professional field audio, cut and looped by hand. The white, pink and brown noise is generated live instead of played back, so there is no loop to find.
No Subscription, No Network One purchase on the Mac App Store and the seventeen sounds are yours for good. Patter cannot open an internet connection — every sound ships inside the app and works on a plane.
