UTMBeGone is a lightweight menu bar app that automatically removes UTM tracking parameters from URLs when you copy them to your clipboard.
Features
- Automatic URL cleaning: Every time you copy a valid URL, UTMBeGone removes all configured tracking queries
- Customizable rules: Comes with a preset of common UTM tags, but you can add or remove any query parameters you want
- Privacy-focused: 100% offline with no analytics or telemetry
- Menu bar integration: Runs quietly in your menu bar with quick access to settings
How It Works
When you copy a URL like:
http://example.com?randomQuery=123&utm_source=tracking&utm_campaign=ads
You'll paste:
http://example.com?randomQuery=123
The app only processes valid URLs (starting with http:// or https://) to avoid accidentally modifying regular text.
Open Source
UTMBeGone is free and open source. You can build it from source or support development by purchasing it on the App Store for automatic updates.
