Nowline is a small macOS menu bar app for time blocking. It shows the calendar block you are in and how much of it is left—right in your menu bar, with no Dock icon.
Features:
- Lives in the menu bar, no Dock icon
- Reads events from all macOS calendars (Calendar.app, iCloud, Google, etc.) via EventKit
- Ignores all-day events
- Handles overlapping events intelligently—the one that started later wins
- Click for a dropdown with the current and next event, refresh, and settings
- A small cat mascot lives beside the countdown: it sits, washes, lies down, sleeps and stretches while there is time, walks during the final three minutes, runs during the final minute, and walks a few more seconds once the countdown hits zero
- Settings: choose calendars, toggle seconds or the mascot, pick a title format and a 12- or 24-hour clock, or follow the system
- Respects Reduce Motion
- Calendar data never leaves your Mac—runs in the App Sandbox with no network access
