Shoji is a privacy screen for the Mac, and it lives entirely in the menu bar.
Press ⌘L and every display locks behind a soft blur, with Touch ID or your Mac password to get back in. Your windows stay exactly where they were, and music and downloads keep going. From the same menu you can blur the whole screen with one shortcut, keep only the front window sharp, keep Messages, Slack and Mail blurred unless you're the one using them, or lock just the app in front with ⌥⌘L when you hand your Mac to someone.
It needs no macOS permissions, has no account and no analytics, and never captures or reads your screen. The blur is drawn by macOS itself.
$14 once, free for 24 hours. macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon and Intel. https://everydaymactools.com/shoji
