Klipvault is a clipboard manager that lives in your macOS menu bar and encrypts everything you copy before it ever touches your disk.
Key Features
- AES-256-GCM encryption on every record and image — encryption is the storage layer, not an optional setting
- 15-day memory with configurable retention, plus per-item expiry dates
- Pins that never expire with one-key shortcuts (⌘1, ⌘2, etc.) accessible from anywhere
- Secret detection for 13 patterns including AWS, GitHub, Slack, Stripe, Google, OpenAI/Anthropic keys, JWTs, PEM blocks, bearer tokens, DB connection strings, and cards
- Touch ID lock for individual clips and full vault auto-lock on idle, sleep, or screen lock
- Text, images, and files with rich text preserved or stripped on demand
- Keyboard-first with six rebindable global hotkeys, fuzzy search, and regex support
- Zero dependencies, zero network — no account, sync, telemetry, or update checks
Security
A random 256-bit key is generated on first run. Everything is sealed with AES-256-GCM before hitting disk. The history file is inert on its own — copy it anywhere and it gives up nothing.
